The Google suite has numerous resources that your child will be utilizing through virtual learning. You can use this page to familiarize yourself with the ins-and-outs of all of the Google Platforms our Bulldogs will use. Click the icons below to learn bout a specific Google platform or keep scrolling to learn about all of the platforms in the Google Suite.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is designed to help teachers and students communicate and collaborate, manage assignments paperless, and stay organized. Google Classroom is part of the Google Apps for Education Suite of tools and is only available for Education accounts.

How to Login to Google Classroom

STEP 1:

Login to your Chromebook using your rrbulldogs.com account information.

Click here if you don’t know your student’s login information.

STEP 2:

Select the Classroom Icon on the bottom of the screen.

Because you used your Google login to sign into the Chromebook, you are automatically signed in to Google Classroom.

How to View Your Classes

STEP 1:

Select the three lines in the top left corner.

Your classes will appear in a list on the left of the screen.

Your classes will appear as tiles on the screen.

How to View an Assignment #2

STEP 1:

Select the class you want to view

STEP 2:

Select “Classwork” at the top center of the screen.

Classwork allows you to see all assignments for this class grouped by topic.

How to Turn in an assignment

STEP 1:

Select the assignment you want to work on then select “View Assignment:

Assignments with a grey circle have been turned in.  

Assignments with a blue circle have NOT been turned in.

STEP 2:

After completing the assignment, double check that any attachments are attached.  Look on the right side of the screen under “Your work”.

STEP 2:

When you’re ready, select “Turn in” TWICE.

After you select Turn in the first time, a window will pop up, click turn in again.

How to Join a classroom

STEP 1:

Click the + Sign in the top right corner of the screen.

STEP 2:

Enter the classroom code given to you by your teacher in the “Class Code” bar.

The code should be 5-7 letters or numbers, and no spaces or symbols.

STEP 3:

Click “Join” inf the top right corner.

Your new class will now appear in your list.

How to View an Assignment #1

STEP 1:

Select the class you want to view

STEP 2:

Select “Stream” at the top center of the screen.

Stream allows you to see all posts from that class starting with the most recent first.

How to View all of your work and each assignment's status

STEP 1:

Select “View your work.”

STEP 2:

When you click on “view your work”, it will take you to a list of all assignments for that class and their status.

How to View a list of ALL assignments from all classes

STEP 1:

Select the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.

STEP 2:

Select “To-do”

From this screen, you can see assignments listed by “To-do” or “Done” for all assignments from all classes.

Edit and Add styles to your text

Text Styles From Left to Right

Paint Roller: Copy formatting from any text and apply it to another section of text

Text Dropdown: Format text

Font, Font Size, Bold, Underline, Italics, Text Color: Assign styles for headings and titles

Paragraph Format: Change text alignment

Line Space: change line spacing

Numbers and Bullets: Add number or bullets to text

Paragraph Arrows: Change Text Indentation.

Enhance your document by adding features

Image: Insert an image from your computer, the web, Drive, and more.

Table: Select the number of columns and rows to create a table.

Drawing: Create pictures, flowcharts, diagrams, and more.

Link: Add a link to a webpage or a header or bookmark in your document.

Chart: Add different types of charts, or add a chart from Sheets.

Bookmark: Add shortcuts to specific places within your document.

Table of contents: Create an autogenerated table of contents that links to each heading (where you’ve applied heading styles).

Collaborate with your team in real time

 

Bubble with Plus Sign: Add comment

Bubble with Lines: Open comment thread

Blue Share Button: Share with your team

Editing: Make changes directly to document

Suggesting: Propose edits to the document that the owner must approve

Work with different versions and copies of your document

Make a copy: Create a duplicate of your document.

Download as: Download your document in other formats, such as Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF.

Email as attachment: Send a copy of the document to people. You can change the format.

Version history: See all the changes you and others have made to the document or revert to earlier versions.

Publish to the web: Publish a copy of your document as a webpage, or embed your document in a website.

Click Share to share your document

You can then choose what collaborators can do. They’ll also receive an email notification.

Editor: Share or unshare, edit content directly, suggest edits, and add comments

Commenter: Suggest Edits and add comments

Viewer: Only View

Add and edit content in your slides

Text Styles From Left to Right

Plus Sign: Add a new slide

Mouse Arrow: Select an item on a slide

Text Box, Image, Shape, or Line: Add these elements

Paint Bucket: Add or change the color of an area

Pencil and Lines: Change border color, weight, or style

Link, and Box with Plus Sign: Add links or comments

Numbers and Bullets: Add number or bullets to text

Work with different copies and versions of your presentation

Import slides—Add slides from another presentation to your current slide deck.

Make a Copy—Create a duplicate of your presentation. This is a great way to create templates.

Download as—Download your presentation in other formats such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe PDF.

Email as an Attachment—Email a copy of your presentation.

Version History—See all the changes you and others have made to the presentation, or revert to earlier versions.

Share Button: Share with your team

Add and organize slides

New slide—Click New slide "" in the toolbar. Click the Down arrow Down arrow to choose a layout for the new slide.

Move slide—Drag the slide to a different position in the presentation. To move several slides at once, Ctrl+click multiple slides before dragging them.

Delete slide—Right-click the slide and select Delete.

Duplicate slide—Right-click the slide in the sidebar and select Duplicate slide.

Click Share to share your presentation

You can then choose what collaborators can do. They’ll also receive an email notification.

  • Initials in the Password are in ALL CAPS
  • Email Adress case does not matter
  • NO Special Characters (hyphens, apostrophes, etc.)
  • NO Spaces

Student’s Email Address:

Firstname.Lastname + Last 4 Digits of Student ID # @ rrbulldogs.com

Example: john.doe4567@rrbulldogs.com

Student’s password:

1st Initial + Last Initial + 7 Digit Student ID #
